Diaphragm Accumulators are small reservoirs made of high tensile steel and consist of a fluid section and gas section, separated by a flexible diaphragm. The gas side is filled with inert gas (normally nitrogen) to specified pre-charge gas pressure, based on application needs.

The fluid port end is connected to the pressure line of the hydraulic circuit, so that the fluid under pressure enters into the accumulator. With the drop in system pressure, the compressed gas filled at the other side of the diaphragm begins to expand and thus forces the release of this fluid into the system.

Other Specifications of Diaphragm Accumulators

  • High compression ratio P2/P0, from 8:1 to 10:1
  • High flow rate can be obtained
  • Compact construction
  • Low maintenance
  • Wide variants to meet diverse purpose
  • Wide use with manifold blocks for modular designs

These accumulators are primarily available in full-seam welded and screw design types. The welded types are specially designed for high quantity, ease of manufacturing, and economical applications, wherein it's more practical to replace the unit rather than repair it. The welded types are more popular than the screw version type.

Additionally, we offer different models of Hydac diaphragm accumulator, known for their reliability and efficiency. These are specially designed to meet demanding industrial standards and provide excellent performance in high-pressure systems

Advantages and benefits of Diaphragm Accumulators:

  • Immediate and fast response to pressure changes makes it best for shock absorption
  • High compression ratios
  • Can be mounted in any orientation
  • Minimal maintenance requirements
  • Compact design
  • Not sensitive to contamination
