Bladder accumulator comprises of a seamless cylindrical shell or welded body vessel, made of high tensile steel, consisting of a fluid section and gas section with rubber bladder mounted inside this shell which acts as the gas-proof screen. Based on application needs, this bladder is pre-charged to specified gas pressure with inert gas.

The drop in circuit pressure will eventually cause the inert gas filed inside the bladder to expand, and forces the stored fluid in the accumulator shell into the circuit.

A small oil volume of min 10% is maintained between the bladder bottom and Oil valve top, to ensure that the bladder bottom does not hit the oil valve during every gas expansion process.
